This Friday, 30.01.2026, 17:00–20:00, SensUs Immersive Studio in Karlsruhe opens for a Last Friday Showcase — a light open-studio visit and private-view evening, more like an artist salon than an event.

The evening grows out of previous months’ SensUs app showcases and focuses this time on light sensing in plants and its translation into immersive experiences.

The studio will be open to experience recent AR works on the SensUs Art platform, including Light Resonances (AR), featured last month, alongside immersive light-sensing explorations such as Solarceptors (VR), an outcome of the Plants Intelligence (SNSF) research, and related works.

The evening continues to explore light through immersion — in plants, environments, and XR. There are no presentations; instead, the studio is an open situation for experiencing the works and engaging in dialogue, only if you wish. For those who feel like going deeper, we’ll be happy to share more about their research, data, scientific collaborations, and immersive technologies.

Time to look, experience, get together, and talk about light, natural and artificial intelligences, plant worlds, immersive climate imaginaries, and life.

Diesen Freitag, 30.01.2026, 17:00–20:00 Uhr, öffnet das SensUs Immersive Studio in Karlsruhe für den Last Friday Showcase— ein leichter Open-Studio-Besuch und Private-View-Abend, mehr Künstlersalon als Event.

Das Studio ist geöffnet, um aktuelle AR-Arbeiten auf der SensUs Art Plattform zu erleben (eine Koproduktion von NAIA & RIXC) sowie immersive Light-Sensing-Arbeiten im XR — darunter AI Herbarium(neu), Light Resonances (AR) und Solarceptors (VR).

Künstlerin und Forscherin Rasa Smite begleitet die Besucher:innen durch die Arbeiten. Wer tiefer einsteigen möchte, ist eingeladen, mehr über die künstlerische Forschung, Datenanalysen, immersive Technologien (wie sie auch in der Wissenschaft genutzt werden) sowie über die Zusammenarbeit mit Raitis Smits (online zugeschaltet), anderen Künstler:innen und Forscher:innen zu erfahren.

Es gibt keine Präsentationen, kein Programm, keinen Druck — nur Gespräche, wenn man möchte. Zeit zum Schauen, Erleben, Zusammensein und Austauschen über Kunst, Wissenschaft, Daten, Klima, Pflanzen, Ökologie, natürliche und künstliche Intelligenzen, Licht, das elektromagnetische Spektrum, immersive Technologien und Leben.
